The XTRASORB® Foam Dressing contains a polyurethane foam layer that effectively absorbs large amounts of fluid from the wound. Unlike traditional foam dressings, this dressing uses a patented super absorbent polymer sheet on the backside which quickly draws in the excess fluid. The dressing is made with highly absorbent, hydrophilic foam and is able to handle a larger amount of fluid than other foam dressings. This prevents the wound from being exposed to harmful components of wound fluid, such as bacteria and proteases, reducing the risk of maceration and irritation.
